Free mobility scooter hire service launched

Whether you’re shopping, catching up with friends, getting to an appointment or spending time with family, a new mobility scooter hire service is helping people get around Palmerston North with ease.

EASIE Living have launched their new Free Wheeling service at the International Day of Persons with Disabilities event in the Square on Monday 3 December. Working in partnership with i-SITE, the service allows people to hire a mobility scooter for up to 4 hours to increase mobility and independence and help them get around Palmy.

“We’re delighted to be able to offer this service to the residents and visitors of Palmerston North,” said Greg Brogden, manager of EASIE Living retail store. “We hope people will use it to help them with activities such as their shopping, joining family down at the Esplanade or simply negotiating the city centre in a more comfortable way.”

The scooter is situated in the i-SITE building in the Square and can be booked by either emailing or calling the centre. When you hire the scooter you pick up and drop off at the handy central location.

Kristy Rodgers, i-SITE Operations Manager said: “Palmerston North City i-SITE are proud to be working in partnership with EASIE Living to provide this service from our highly visible, central city location. We feel this service will enable both locals and visitors to better explore our wonderful city and all it has to offer."
